Bangerang is a 5 piece band from Buffalo N.Y. who have always strived to do their best in songwriting, live performance,
and musicianship. Since the beggining, the goal was to make good songs that we enjoyed playing, and people enjoying listening
to. The band has been through so many line-up changes, that we've lost track of exaclty how many times we've had
a line-up change...But the heart of Bangerang lies in any and every member that is with us now, or has been with us before.
It started in the summer of 2002 with Jake Jarowzewski on bass and vocals, Mary Personious on guitar, and Mike Hansen on
drums. We played 3 shows as a trio, and Jake split. Vinny then came into the picture after sitting in at a few practices and
taking an interest in the band. After practicing with only insturments, we decided it was time for some vocal action. We then
recruited Will Unger, and Jim Jordan. We played about 7 shows with that line-up, and Will left. Jeff Ernst (the
current singer) was asked to step in, and he certainly did. Jeff was exactly what we needed. We recorded our first demo called
"you won't take us alive" with that line-up.
After working as a 5 piece, we decided to try out a second guitar. Let's just say...that didn't work out the first time
we tried it. After Mary left the band in the spring of 2003, Justin Swartwout (our current lead guitar player) joined
and gave Bangerang what it needed to become better at their insturments. He brought a certain drive to the band that no one
else had, because he was the best guitar player any of us had ever seen locally at least. Mary re-joined while Justin was
just starting out, and we played 2 shows with 6 members. Mary left again, and we were back to a five piece. Then, we recorded
a second time with the 5 remaining members. The CD was called "the jackle strikes at midnight". In the summer of 2004, Jim
and the band went our separate ways, and we played our first show as a 4 piece in September of 2004. The band started going
through a lot of changes musically and decided to take on a new direction. The effort to create a new direction for the band
worked especially when Bill Laruche came in as rhythm guitar in October of 2004. We worked as a re-born 5 piece, and recorded
the "Investment Capital E.P." until just recently. The spring of 2005 would mark Bill's last days in the band. Bill left
the band, and we knew we couldn't continue as a 4 piece due to the style of music, and the fact that all the songs were
written with 2 guitars in mind. We knew we couldn't change any of that, because that would mean starting from scratch. We
didn't have to look far to find a replacement. Mike Dagoneese came in as a replacement for Bill, and began working
on songs and the like right away. His charisma and drive to play makes up for the loss of Bill, and makes us
all really excited to work with him, and keep Bangerang running smoothly. Currently, the line-up is:
- Mike H. - Drums / Fat Thighs.
- Vinny. - Bass / Strange Body Parts.
- Jeff. - Vocals / Pony-Tail.
- Justin. - Lead Guitar / Diet Pepsi.
- Mike D. - Rhythm Guitar / Stupid.
